Fire awakens something primal in us. It’s a symbol of home, of rest, of safety. That’s why every house at Unique Villas Lajares keeps a real wood‑burning fireplace at its heart.
The soul of the fire is the wood. And ours is special: Canary heather, from La Palma — the greenest island in the archipelago. It’s sourced nearby, from local producers we know by name. A zero‑kilometre choice that respects the island and leaves a light footprint. Natural. Clean‑burning. Gentle on the air. Good for the island — and for the gentle fire you’ll light as evening falls.
Only heather burns the way we want it to: slow, steady, fragrant — the kind of fire that warms you from within.
Fireplace service is available as an optional extra, and for many of our guests it becomes a quiet ritual of warmth and calm.

The Egyptian cotton we use for our bed linen is fine, silky, lustrous, and cool. We know that anything in direct contact with your skin deserves special care. Our towels have a minimum weight of 125 grams, and we wash them at 80 °C to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
Yes, all our villas now feature a hairdryer like this one from the prestigious Dyson™ brand, in the main bathroom. We could call it an ordinary hairdryer — but we’d be lying. Those who know it will understand the very special pleasure it brings.
It’s one of this year’s most anticipated additions, something we’ve wanted to introduce for a long time — not only for the pleasure of using it, but because Fuerteventura demands it, both for its extreme climate and for the lifestyle of most of our guests, who love water sports.

Let’s start with the kitchen
As well as having everything you need, the kitchens in these villas in Lajares feature thoughtful touches such as a Bosch induction hob, a Nespresso coffee machine with a box of Lavazza capsules, carefully chosen cutlery — with well‑sharpened knives from Zara Home, fine glassware, a sample of extra virgin olive oil (to spare you an unnecessary trip), and salt from the Salina de Fuerteventura — wonderfully flavourful and perfect for cooking.

The fireplace is wellbeing. Especially during the holidays, when we’re more open to receiving its positive effects on our spirit.
It has also been noted that watching the flames of a fireplace can lower blood pressure and reduce anxiety levels. These findings support the idea that having a fireplace at home can help create a more relaxing environment, ideal for rest.

You could recognise our villas with your eyes closed. It’s all in the scent: basil, lemon, rosemary, cedarwood, amber… Each of our houses is wrapped in the iconic fragrances of the Italian brand Acqua di Parma.
La Casa Sul Lago. Buongiorno. Colonia. To call them “diffusers” would miss their essence. They are the scent of sunshine, joy, and holidays — bottled in yellow glass and designed to be part of your daily ritual.

And we’re firmly on the side of those who love it. But it’s not just about its design or the pleasure of using it — though stepping into its warm stream of air does feel a little like Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch.

DO WE NEED A RENTAL CAR?
Preferable, to explore the island, its beaches and nature. But not necessary if you simply want to rest in the villa and relax. Take a taxi from the airport for approx. €60 to reach Unique Homes.
WHERE ARE THEY?
They are all in Lajares, the cutest little village in Fuerteventura… all the beaches in the north are close by.
ARE THEY IN THE SAME PLACE OR SEPARATE?
They are separate, although some are on the same street, such as Mykonos, Santorini, Sicilia and The Retreat.
HOW MANY VILLAS ARE THERE?
We currently have 4 homes, but there will be more soon!
IS EVERYTHING PRIVATE?
Yes. Nothing is shared — in any of them.
DO THEY OFFER PRIVACY?
Yes, a lot (all of them).
